Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder and salt; stir thoroughly.
Cover bowl and chill dough for one hour (or overnight).

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Roll cookie dough out onto a floured surface. Roll dough until it is 1/4 to
1/2-inch thick. With cookie cutter, cut dough into fun shapes.

Place cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Keep cookies at least
1-inch apart.

Bake cookies 6 - 8 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
