Apple Brownies

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
3 medium apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar; beat until fluffy. Fold in the apples and walnuts.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Gradually stir flour mixture into butter mixture; blend. DO NOT OVERMIX.

Spread batter evenly into baking dish.

Bake 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
